As the world’s leading exhibition for the hunting and target sports industry, IWA OutdoorClassics provides the ideal platform for trends and innovations. A growing focus: environmental awareness and the associated requirements for companies. For international retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, and relevant multipliers, the event offers an inspiring setting to exchange ideas on sustainable business models, regulatory frameworks, and future-proof solutions.
Our events are global platforms for sustainable innovation.

Economically: Fostering Innovation and Opportunities

Through the subsidized Young Innovators joint pavilion and the international Newcomer Area, IWA supports young companies and start-ups in showcasing their ideas and unlocking new business opportunities. By providing access to international networks, markets, and retail, the exhibition promotes sustainable entrepreneurship and contributes to the long-term economic development and resilience of the industry.

Ecological: Responsible Use of Resources

IWA itself relies on digital innovations and a conscious approach to resources to reduce its ecological footprint. The Digital Guide and other digital communication measures minimize the need for printed materials. Where print products are necessary, environmentally friendly, recycled materials are used. Through these measures, IWA demonstrates its sense of responsibility—both at the exhibition and throughout the entire sector.

Social: Diversity, Equality, and Talent

Social sustainability is at the heart of IWA – with a commitment to equality, equal opportunities, and cultural diversity. This is reflected, for example, in the support of women in hunting, the inclusion of Paralympic sports, and a balanced representation of speakers and topics in the supporting programme. The IWA Talent Programme specifically targets schools and universities, thereby promoting the next generation in the industry.

Measures for responsible events

We are working to reduce the footprint of our service offerings. Among other things, we rely on reusable, modular aluminum trade fair stands, catering with local food, reusable tableware and a recycling system. With our EV charging stations, discounted train tickets and free public transport, we make climate-conscious travel easier.

Sustainability at NürnbergMesse

As the first trade fair company in Germany, we had our energy management certified to ISO 50001 back in 2014, and our environmental management is certified to ISO 14001. Our halls 3A and 3C have also been awarded DGNB Platinum status. Through measures such as our photovoltaic system with second-life battery storage and our recyclable ECO carpet, we make a measurable contribution to reducing our environmental impact. We document our measures each year in a voluntary sustainability report.
