The Airsoft Days 2023, organized by the Airsoft Helden, were an exciting experience, full of joy, tactics and community. On the huge "Airfield Mahlwinkel" players of all ages and experience levels competed in different matches. In particular, the Airsoft Day is aimed at younger players and Airsoft beginners who are looking for fun with like-minded people in the common competition and an adventure weekend with friends and team partners. We were there as part of the IWA Campfire - and in the middle of the action!

The Airsoft Days in portrait

The Airsoft Days were created by the Airsoft Helden with the following intention: From players for players. On the extensive "Airfield Mahlwinkel", which extends over approximately 120 hectares, players are offered the opportunity to experience exciting airsoft battles in various varied game modes. The event not only includes the games themselves, but also offers an exciting social program as well as the Airsoft Heroes Shop, where fans can stock up on their equipment. The focus in everything is always on community, fun and fair play.

Delta Unit vs. Ghost Infantry

The central highlight of Airsoft Days is the competition between the two fictitious elite units ‘Delta Unit’ and ‘Ghost Infantry’. Their team members compete in various scenarios in which fighting spirit, tactical skill and, above all, teamwork are decisive. The competition is supplemented by additional missions, which can earn the units decisive extra points for victory. Thus, in the end, the unit with the best team play and the greatest skill will be the victor.

Play experiences and the community

But what makes Airsoft Days so special is not only the game itself, but the whole atmosphere. You find a community of like-minded people who make friends, share experiences, and grow together. Newcomers are supported by more experienced players, and there are workshops and practice games to improve your skills. We too have been guided by experienced players to get up close and personal with the game and immerse ourselves in the world of airsoft and become a part of the game, getting to know and better understand the airsoft community.

What matters at Airsoft Days: A conversation with Nick Ikonomidis

Nick Ikonomidis, an experienced airsoft player and founder of Airsoft Heroes, emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication during the interview. "It's not just about being able to shoot well. You have to understand your teammates, anticipate their moves and act as a unit," Nick explained. His descriptions offered a good look behind the scenes of the sport and showed how much more than skill is needed to be successful and how strong the airsoft community is together. Further, Nick gave us deep insights into the airsoft scene with his open nature and his great popularity in the community.

Airsoft Days: Summary

The Airsoft Days 2023 were made for the IWA Campfire. The combination of competition, community experience and the opportunity to live out one's passion for airsoft make it a highlight in every fan's calendar. The event brings together people of different ages and backgrounds, creating a community that extends far beyond the game. We leave Mahlwinkel with the anticipation of the next event and meeting the airsoft community again, happy to have gained new impressions and experiences. One thing is for sure: We will see each other again at the Dark Emergency 2024!
