The Atacama.2 was developed together with the German Armed Forces and has also proven its high performance and reliability with other professional forces - such as the police, fire department and military. The new Atacama Quartz UTC was designed for situations requiring maximum safety, resilience, and precision. The fundamental elements on the dial – such as the hands, numerals, and indices – are covered with the luminous material Superluminova. Thus, the Atacama always remains a reliable companion, even at night and in unfavorable lighting conditions. The two-tone hands - hour and second with Superluminova C3, minute orange - ensure intuitive readability from any angle. The built-in 24-hour scale with its second time zone is done in orange, as is the UTC hand with its skeletonized arrowhead.

The conical stainless-steel case, pressure resistant to 20 ATM, is black PVD coated to avoid unwanted reflections while wearing. The same applies to the unidirectional rotating countdown bezel and the crown positioned at twelve o'clock. The Swiss quartz movement Ronda 515.24H ticks behind the screwed back case. The advantages of the caliber include not only the high precision of only a few seconds deviation per month, but also the GMT function with quick correction. What's more, a date window is located at six o'clock, done in contrasting white for outstanding readability.

Thanks to its much thinner quartz movement, the height of the case could be reduced to just 10.5 millimeters. However, though the diameter is 46 millimeters, it has a contact area of only 34 millimeters. This makes the Atacama Quartz UTC more suitable for narrower wrists, as it wears significantly smaller than models with a comparable diameter.  Flexible lugs between the case and the strap ensure that the watch ergonomically adapts to the wrist.

The "Atacama" ranks among the first squad watches launched on the market by Laco. The German watch manufacturer's model will be making a comeback this autumn. As with all the brand's wrist watches, clear design, “Made in Germany" quality, and sturdiness are also prominent features of these watch.

When development work began for this watch, high quality standards and requirements had to be met - for the toughest conditions. A 100% reliable thoroughbred mechanical watch "Made in Germany" resulted from work partly carried out in close cooperation with the German Army and special units. This new edition “Atacama” is aimed at emergency forces, police, military and those who love outdoor activities.

In order to give the watch the necessary strength, the sensitive screwed crown has been integrated in an innovative way into the watch strap at the 12 o´clock position. The double joint between the case and strap makes this possible. Due to this the watch fits snugly onto the wrist, and increases wearer comfort.

The Laco 24 automatic movement, based on the Swiss calibre ETA 2824.2, functions perfectly even in the trickiest situations. In contrast to other types of watch fitted with a rotating bezel, the rotatable ring has a countdown function, counting down backwards anti-clockwise.  This is particularly useful when coordinating joint deployments.

Hard sapphire crystal on the front and reverse protects the interior of the watch. Hands, numbers and indexes are coated with luminescent Superluminova, rendering them easily legible during twilight and at night. In addition, the screw-down crown ensures water resistance of up to 50 ATM. This Laco squad watch is suited for robust daily use in the toughest conditions - and has a simple, yet distinct design.

Robust, versatile, and luminous in the dark: a scorpion has the qualities it needs to thrive in many different environments. The same applies to Laco‘s new sports watch, which is also suitable for a wide range of applications. That‘s why the watch also features appropriate markings as a special highlight: a relief design in the form of a scorpion.

With this model, which is available in a total of four colour variations, Laco has expanded its range of squad watches. With prices starting at €930, the new watch is signifi cantly more affordable than the existing „Seven Seas“ models, but retains their sporty looks and technical details. As such, the Pforzheim-based watch manufacturer offers this new product with the same „Laco 24“ automatic mechanism, which is based on the reliable ETA 2824.2 with the Elaboré quality standards.

These four watches, all of which are „Made in Germany“ share the same black dial with white Arabic numerals as well as the shape of their casing. They differ, however, in their visual colour accents, with the black, unidirectional bezel , the indices and the minute hand being coated in luminous Superluminova paint in white, green, blue, or orange. The long-lasting afterglow effect ensures optimal readability in low lighting conditions or even complete darkness. This is another aspect where the scorpion analogy is appropriate: the scorpion produces fluorescent materials that make it visible at night under UV lighting.

With its solid exoskeleton, the scorpion is also exceptionally tough and strong for its small size. This is another characteristic that applies to this squad watch. The 42 mm diameter „Scorpion“ model also resists external infl uences. This is assured thanks to the solid stainless steel case, and the fact that both the caseback and the crown are screwed into place. The double domed sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant. Its internal anti-refl ective coating means that refl ections are reduced, with improved transparency. The watch is also waterproof to 30 atmospheres and, to ensure that the watch can be used to the full in the water, different models are available, with a choice of a black rubber or stainless steel strap.
