Founded in 1918, Paolino Bacci of Cascina is a company recognized as a world leader in the production of CNC machining centers with 5 or more interpolated axes for woodworking and composite materials processing. Since its inception, the company has remained under the control of the Bacci family, now with the fourth generation at the helm.
The company's history is rooted in the birth of the local furniture district during the 1920s. After initially producing conventional machines, in the early 1950s, the company began to specialize in manufacturing machines for chairs and, more broadly, for solid wood processing. In the early 1990s, the company developed the first 5-axis CNC machining center. Thanks to its extreme flexibility and productivity features, this new type of CNC machinery quickly established Bacci as a global leader in this niche market, addressing applications not only in chair, table, and general furniture manufacturing but also expanding into plastic, aluminum, and composite materials.
Today, in addition to producing 5-axis CNC machining centers, Paolino Bacci has a division for the production of vertical CNC band saws for shaped cutting and horizontal band saws for thin cutting. With over 50 registered international patents, Paolino Bacci is recognized as a leading company capable of providing extremely innovative machinery, increasingly performance-oriented, and tailored to the individual needs of its customers.
As of today, the Bacci family controls a group of companies with a total of approximately 150 employees. This includes Paolino Bacci – the main and only production site and headquarters in Cascina (Pisa), Bacci Meccanica – a company supplying precision metalworking for Bacci in Cascina (Pisa), Bacci Automation – a recent acquisition (2017) in Udine, specialized in providing robotic automation for production processes in various sectors from woodworking to metalworking. Bacci America (NC, USA) and Bacci China (Dongguan, China) are the two technical-commercial branches directly controlled by Bacci, and there are plans for opening another branch in Southeast Asia in the near future.
The recent construction of new facilities at the Cascina headquarters (in 2019 and soon in 2023) and the adoption of "lean" production techniques have allowed both an expansion of production capacity and better control of quality and production efficiency.
With over 4000 CNC machining centers sold, Paolino Bacci has earned respect and trust worldwide from its customer base, thanks to consistently high levels of quality, service, and excellence offered for over 100 years.
