Since 1853 AKAH is a synonym for high class handmade leather goods. Since 5 generations "Made in Germany" is the hallmark of the still family owned  company in the Cologne area.

Facing food scandals, chemical allergies and air pollution modern human beings long for natural healthy resources. Clothing tends to use merely fibres from renewable raw materials. So more and more dog keepers want to buy collars and leashes made from hides of free-living animals.

Since 168 years hunters and dog friends can rely on toxin-free, vegeta­l tanning of AKAH leathers. AKAH merely uses hides from Alpine cows, Finnish moose and Mongolian yak bovines. They all tell the life story of a free-living creature with all its natural grains and scars. AKAH never oversprayed this life biography.

Since centuries hand stitching is the highlight of leather manufacturing. AKAH saddlers are trained for 3 years in the art of sewing with 2 needles and 2 yarns at the same time.
Each hand stitched collar, each hand stitched leash is UNIQUE - made by a specialist saddler for one specific dog keeper.

Loden is since long time the hunters favourite material. It is silent, hard wearing, lasts for generations and has the right colour for hunters. AKAH combined Teflon impregnated Austrian PISCHL Loden with Finnish moose leather.

Exquisite moose leather combined with waterproof Austrian PISCHL loden (580g/sqm, 50% new wool, 25% wool, 25% polyamide). Noiseless closures, extra back pocket for jackets, extra game bag. Comfortable moose leather straps padded with mesh-lining.
