New constructions of semiautomatic  rifles, both in caliber 5.56 mm x 45 (with a short piston stroke) and firing 9 mm ammunition with a blowback action, but also in a piston version. They also replicate the manipulator layout, which has been a benchmark in terms of ergonomics for 60 years, but it has also undergone some changes. And that's where the similarities essentially end because SOG has gone much further in terms of design than simple changes to details or external appearance.

The 5.56 mm x 45 LE semiautomatic carbine  in caliber 5.56x45, 300 BLK, and 9x19. The upper receiver is made by CNC machining from 6061-T6/7075-T6 aluminum and finished with hard anodizing type III (available in FDE, black, and steel grey colors). The lower receiver will be made of a very durable polymer. The use of a polymer lower receiver significantly speeds up the production process but also reduces the weight of the lower receiver and the entire weapon, as well as providing great flexibility in terms of different colors according to customer preferences.

Civilian version of SOG-LE meet the requirements of the client's country's laws. In general, the semi-automatic version meets all export standards set for civilian firearms in Europe.

The LE carbine is available with barrels of lengths 10.5", 12.7", 14.5", and 16" in HBAR and Government profiles. The barrels are threaded with the standard 1/2-28 thread, allowing the attachment of various muzzle devices for AR carbines.

The new SOG carbines in 5.56 and 300 BLK calibers operate on the basis of a short-stroke gas piston system, but the piston system has been specially designed for the SOG-LE carbine. The charging handle arrangement has been changed - it has been moved from the rear of the lower receiver to the side of the handguard, providing the option to place it on the right or left side of the weapon, depending on the user's needs. The charging handle does not move during firing. Upon customer request, it is possible to produce 5.56 and 300 BLK carbines with a direct impingement gas system.

The LE carbines are equipped with an adjustable stock with a large, stable rubber buttpad mounted on a buffer tube, but it is completely different from the classic stocks of AR carbines while maintaining design consistency with the futuristic design of the carbine.

The stock and handguard are equipped with QD sling attachment points (the first prototypes did not have them). The original handguard made of 6061-T6/7075-T6 aluminum has a MIL-STD-1913 rail on the top and bottom surfaces and M-LOK slots on the sides. It is connected to the upper receiver using a mounting system that ensures structural rigidity and eliminates any play. The upper receiver also has a RIS mounting rail on the top surface. The handguard is finished with hard anodizing type III in black, FDE, and steel grey colors, but other color options are also possible.

The moving components of the carbine are made of 8620 steel (bolt carrier) and 9310 steel (bolt).

The external metal components of the carbines can also be finished with polymer paints in the RAL color palette, as well as HIR-146 Milspec.

An original feature is the SOG-LE chambered in 9 mm x 19, which will be offered in two versions: a classic version operating on the blowback principle and a version with a short-stroke gas piston system. The gas piston system is still undergoing testing, and its main purpose is to allow the weapon to operate in a wet environment. Dedicated suppressors and muzzle devices have been developed for the 9x19 caliber carbine. The 9x19 version has a specially enlarged magazine well.

It is worth mentioning that the SOG-LE system will be produced to MIL-SPEC standards, which means that components will be compatible with other AR-15 pattern rifles, allowing for customization and interchangeability with a wide range of aftermarket accessories and parts.
