The MyPilotPro Aviator GoPro Airplane Mount is one of the most requested mounts we have ever had! The Aviator attaches to an existing inspection plate on your aircraft. Each mount puck is precisely CNC milled from a single aircraft aluminum billet and is coupled with stainless steel hardware. We are Ram Mount® authorized partners and we teamed up with them to add the GoPro camera swivel arm which allows you to point your camera in virtually any angle and direction. A neoprene washer ensures that any vibration can not make its way to the camera and also prevents any marring to your inspection plate.

Easy to Securely Attach

Attaching the MyPilotPro Aviator to an inspection plate is a straight forward process which should involve your A&P mechanic and a simple logbook entry. Disassemble the entire mount assembly so that the aluminum mounting puck is by itself. Unscrew an existing inspection plate screw (typically a #8 screw) and replace it with one that is 1/2″ longer (not included). Insert the replacement screw through the center hole in the CNC milled mounting puck. Ensure the neoprene washer is between the mount base and the inspection plate and screw the mounting puck assembly back into into the existing inspection plate threads. You can now reassemble the entire mount onto to the puck including the swivel arm halves, the swivel ball, and the stainless steel hardware.

The mount also comes with a safety hair pin that prevents the mount from coming off the mounting puck. After you have reassembled the mount to the puck and firmly tightened the wig nut, insert the stainless steel hair pin into the hole at the end of the threaded bolt. The hair pin ensures that the wing nut securing the entire mount assembly to the inspection plate puck can not come loose.

Universal and Compact

This mount is compatible with all action cameras including GoPro and is universal for all General Aviation and Light Sport Aircraft. If your aircraft has an inspection plate, the MyPilotPro Aviator can attach to it. It weighs just 2.9 oz including all hardware and fits in the palm of your hand.

While going through my private pilot training I would go home and “tell” my wife about my flight that day but I wanted to be able to “show” her instead. A need was born and I designed my first prototype GoPro mount to attach to the outside of aircraft. I needed to design a mount that would withstand the G forces of flying, would quickly and securely attach to the aircraft, and required no tools to attach. I went straight to my shop and made the first prototype!

I knew I couldn’t be the only pilot that wanted to record their flights from the outside perspective of the aircraft and I quickly realized I was right! Since those early days of starting MyPilotPro in 2014, we have sold our MyPilotPro mounts to customers in every continent in the world. Our customers include government agencies of all levels, universities, corporations, and of course consumers. My small company literally took off!

Flying is not my only interest. I also enjoy fishing all of types, off road riding in my Jeep, and exploring the Rocky Mountains on ATV’s right here in Montana. Filming those adventures with my GoPro cameras became an every trip occurrence. Using the knowledge I gained making aircraft mounts, I carried that expertise into designing mounts for my other outdoor adventures.

I am very proud that MyPilotPro Mounts are entirely American made with American labor. We build every mount in-house and I inspect them all before they ship out. Judging from the feedback I get from our customers, they appreciate the quality! This being said, I realize that my primary asset is not my product, it’s you my customer. I really enjoy interacting with my customers and it’s from this feedback that I developed other products we sell.
