BODDINGTON ON LION 2010 DVD, running time 2 hours 15 mins This African lion hunting movie is just one in a string of solid, well-crafted products that Craig Boddington has filmed in the last ten years. OK, let’s be honest: All large cat hunting is boring for the most part. Why? You shoot some bait and hang it up in a tree, and then you wait, and wait, and then wait some more. It makes no difference if you want a leopard or a lion, it’s all the same: hurry up and sit down till he comes. So the producers had their work cut out for them, and their treatment of the subject is better than we have ever seen. There are lion hunts in the three countries where lions are most hunted and free ranging today: Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. We see lion hunts in South Africa, only a few, and more in Namibia, which also has free-ranging lions, albeit often cattle-killing, problem lions. (As a sideline, the brief footage of a free-ranging male lion in Namibia trying to enter a cattle corral will stay with me forever, for never have I seen a picture of a wild lion with such a mane.) The action is well paced, not hither and zither jerking you from left to right, and neither are there endless waits in blinds only punctuated by bait-buzzing flies and the sonorous call of guinea fowl in the background. We are shown the four basic methods of hunting lions today: tracking, baiting, chance encounter, and calling. There is good information on the lion itself as well as excellent footage of lion life—lions at play, killing, fighting, and in family prides. This gives you and excellent idea about lions and about what lion hunting in Africa is like today. Excitement? A PRESENCE AT DSC & SCI CONVENTIONS

Craig Boddington now signs his books full time in the Craig Boddington Endorsed Outfitters 20 foot booth at both the Dallas Safari Club Convention and Safari Club International Convention. The traffic at our booth never ceases unless Craig is hosting a seminar.

Hunters regularly ask Craig for outfitter recommendations while snapping a photo or buying a book. Craig directs them to CBEO members. Additionally, if you've provided us brochures, we'll do our best to get them in the hunter's hand. If you're exhibiting, we'll give them your booth number.

EXCLUSIVITY

At this point, CBEO has declined more outfitters than we've accepted. You can imagine the network of contacts Craig has accumulated over the years. This, combined with his accessibility means he receives information on who is operating ethically.

Our vetting process is intense. We check backgrounds on owners, investors and managers. We reach out to professional organizations and government oversight agencies. We check with our existing members in the region. If all of that checks out we get on an airplane and visit the outfit to ensure everything is as described. This is a massive investment. We do it to protect our fellow hunters, our existing members and our brand.

We also keep our regional density low. It does you little good if all of your competitors are also endorsed. If we think a region is close to being full we check with the existing members to see if an addition will compliment their offerings.

Bottom line? It is a high but simple standard to become a Craig Boddington Endorsed Outfitter: Would Craig send his wife or daughters to hunt with you?

A PRESENCE ON CRAIG'S WEBSITE

This will include a video of Craig discussing why he endorses your outfit, a large gallery of your photos, a description, species list and a quote from Craig. Your listing will be searchable by country, species offered or name.

EDITORIAL AND HOSTED HUNTS

Craig's writing appears across many magazines and websites. He also appears regularly on television and streaming services. There are outfits around the world that will happily credit Craig's coverage with helping them go big time. We're also regularly organizing hunts where Craig is in attendance and the hunt is promoted as an opportunity to spend time in camp with Craig.

CBEO member outfits are contacted first when editorial or hosted hunts are needed.

COLLABORATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA EFFORTS

Building an authentic social media presence is a massive endeavor. The key word is "authentic". Craig Boddington built his presence from the ground up with none of the shenanigans used to inflate numbers. Today you'll see we have a strong Facebook and YouTube following of serious hunters.

We'll work with you to promote your offerings to these hunters while helping you to build a long term plan of your own. We also encourage members of the CBEO family to promote one another's offerings in a mutually beneficial way.

ON-SITE AND CONVENTION BRANDING MATERIALS

You'll receive logo wear, and signage for your booth and your lodge. This will include the iconic wooden white oak sign, floor signs, the standout hunter orange badge wallet, ball cap, watch cap, and a magnetic door sign for your truck. Even more importantly, you'll be licensed to use our logo on your website, brochures, email signature, booth and anywhere else you feel it will benefit you.
