Why NONTOX cartridges ?

After firing the cartridge is free from toxic exposure to barium, lead, mercury, antimony. It does not pollute the environment, does not endanger the shooter's health with combustion products, and does not pollute the gun. It ensures safe shooting in closed premises and on target ranges. The company Sellier & Bellot JSC has occupied for a long time a key position in the Czech ammunition production and ranks among the oldest engineering companies in Czech Republic, being one of the oldest globally. Products have continuously been produced under its trade mark since 1825.

Sellier & Bellot JSC produces a wide range of pistol, rifle, and shotgun ammunition for hunting and sports. The pistol and revolver ammunition is produced in calibers from 6,35 Browning to .460 S&W Magnum. They can be loaded with a non-toxic primer NONTOX. It is a non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-erosive primer composition from which heavy metals have been removed. The company has obtained the patent protection of this solution not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe and the USA. A wide range of rifle ammunition is supplied in calibers from 22 Hornet to 9,3 x 74R with a possibility of loading of 10 types of bullets for hunting as well as target shooting. The shotgun ammunition is produced in calibers 12, 16, 20, 28, and 410. The company offers almost 100 various options. Using the sports version of the ammunition, our shooters have achieved top results in the most prestigious shooting competitions. Our range of products also includes rimfire ammunition and rimfire and centerfire caps. Sellier & Bellot a.s. has the widest range of ammunition products in the world.

In order to ensure the quality of the products of Sellier & Bellot, the company has introduced and implemented an effective quality management system. The system regularly undergoes the assessment of its conformity with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard by a certification company. Sellier & Bellot JSC has held the certificate of conformity with the requirements of the mentioned standards for eighteen years.

The Czech Republic is a contracting state of the Brussels Convention and, therefore, all the ammunition for civil market is designed, produced, and tested under the standards of the Permanent International Commission for Firearms Testing (C.I.P.) The ammunition is put on the civil market after testing and obtaining the certificate of the type checking of ammunition and, in the course of production, it is subject to regular testing by means of inspection checking in order to ensure conformity with the requirements of type under C.I.P. The testing is performed by the Czech Proof House for Firearms and Ammunition.

The major part of products (more than 85%) is exported and, in addition to the vast civil product range, the company manufactures special products for the armed forces. Therefore, the quality management system has been extended by the specific requirements mentioned in the standardization agreements and publications of the NATO. In the Czech Republic, the requirements are formulated in the Czech Defense Standards (ČOS). The implementation, application, and fulfillment of the standards are checked by the auditors of the Defense Standardization, Codification and Government Quality Assurance Authority of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.

The year 2009 saw one of the milestones in the history of the company, the Brazilian company Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos S.A. (CBC), also known under the name of Magtech, has become the owner of Sellier & Bellot a.s. Another group member is the German company MEN, a globally renowned producer of small-arms ammunition for the military, police, and commercial markets. Due to the merger into one group, the mentioned companies have become more competitive and rank among the largest producers in the world.
