SHOTMAXX is a shot timer unlike any that came before. It is a lightweight and compact sports watch, elegant and non-intrusive, and at just 60 grams (2.1 oz.) certainly comfortable enough to wear on your wrist while shooting. No longer will you need to look down to your belt or have your timer bounce around on your belt or neck as you RO or practice. Never again will you have to put your shot timer down, only to forget or lose it on the range. The SHOTMAXX remains securely on your wrist throughout your entire session.

The SHOTMAXX runs a sophisticated shot detection algorithm far more advanced than anything else out there. It analyzes the wave form of the sound and decides if it follows the well-recognized form of a shot sound pattern. If so and the threshold is met (there are 10 levels of digital sensitivity adjustment in the SHOTMAXX), the shot is recorded. The SHOTMAXX therefore operates as a normal sound activated timer, only more effectively and more reliably. Its new high-tech internal microphone offers a far wider range than ever before.

SHOTMAXX is the first shot timer to pick up shots by using accelerometer sensor technology alongside microphone sensors. When you activate the Acc (accelerometer/recoil sensor), your SHOTMAXX not only detects sound, but recoil as well. You use this feature when you shoot alongside others on the range and want to record only YOUR shots on your shot timer.

The SHOTMAXX’s sensors are so sensitive that we are able to offer the best airsoft performance ever seen. Select “airsoft” from the sensitivity settings and you are good to go! Be aware though, that at this extreme level of sensitivity, the SHOTMAXX must not be bumped or tapped as those small sounds are picked up as well.

SHOTMAXX also offers Bluetooth connectivity! Pair it with your smart phone or tablet, and download your split times or training information directly from your SHOTMAXX. The first Android and iOS apps are already available, and more are in the works.

During the development stage, a great deal of attention was paid to creating a product that is truly user friendly and perfectly suited for use on the range - for practice, coaching or ROing.

In 2004 Double-Alpha Academy published my first book, Perfect Practice. This was followed by Thinking Practical Shooting in 2005. Now available in English, German, Italian, and Spanish, these books are enjoyed by shooters worldwide.

In 2003 we produced our first competition DVD. Since then Double-Alpha Academy has brought more than a dozen productions to the shooting community, including the official Match DVDs for the 2005 World Shoot and several USPSA National Championships. In line with our motto Promoting Excellence in IPSC Shooting, we have recently produced new coaching DVDs, bringing you the teachings of top shooters and coaches like Max Michel and Angus Hobdell in 3GM (soon in 3GM2 as well) and my new coaching DVDs, Master Class Series.

In 2006 Competitive Edge Dynamics and Double-Alpha Academy introduced the new CED7000 Shot Timer to the shooting world. This timer is fast becoming the industry standard. Building on our successful cooperation, CED and DAA continue to work together to develop new products. In 2007 the customized shooter's knee pads and the exciting Range Ready Cleaning Kit were introduced. And there is more to come!

We are very proud to announce that Double-Alpha Academy is now "CED Europe", the exclusive importer of all CED products to Europe and Africa. We stock and offer the CED product line to dealers and distributors in Europe, offering them local service and warranty, as well as greatly reduced lead times and transport costs. No longer do the best shooting accessories need to be ordered from halfway around the world! They are now in stock right here in the Netherlands.

Originally most of Double-Alpha Academy’s business was in the retail market. However it has always been our goal to develop and distribute our own products and other top brands of IPSC equipment. This goal is now being realized with our new spacious warehouse and a customer base that is more wholesale-oriented. We currently supply over 120 dealers and distributors around the world, and that number is constantly on the increase. We work hard to offer our dealers the very best customer service, as well as excellent profit margins and sales support.
