Conceived by the Austrian Lieutenant Joseph Lorenz, the rifle’s official production started in 1854, replacing the Augustin rifle among the Austrian troops, demonstrating from the very beginning, its supremacy over the former rifle. It was used in Italy during the second Independence War, as well as in the Balkans. It was then largely exported to America, equipping both the Union and the Confederate armies, becoming one of the most used rifles during the years of the American Civil War.

In the over sixty years since its foundation Davide Pedersoli remains a family company in this millennium, charged with the same energy and enthusiasm that has been always its main characteristic.
The third generation, cooperating with the second is faithful to the company mission: “re-proposing history, offering prestigious products of superior quality, which will retain their value over time”; the Davide Pedersoli company does not follow the current trend, yet continues to offer new historical products; both muzzle loading and breech loading guns, opening the way to new markets in new countries, once far from our traditions, keeping the
leadership, introducing and promoting muzzle loading shooting in all disciplines: hunting, historical re-enactment, target shooting.
Our continuous research enables the Davide Pedersoli company to introduce new models, as in these last years: the Civil War Guns, the Lever Action Rifles and Long Range Target Shooting Rifles completing the already rich product range, becoming leader in the international market, thanks to the P.M.G. barrels and production technology, and especially the faithful historical and aesthetic accuracy of the products.
