The Arctic Field Ration from Drytech is the primary individual field ration of the Norwegian Armed Forces. It conforms to the NATO standard for military rations. It balances the nutritional requirements, and provides a simple logistical burden throughout the supply chain. All though it is constructed as a Cold Climate ration, it serves well in any environment.
In each, the ration contains an entrée (with a 700 kcal content), and a wide assortment of complimentary items such as energy bars, snack items, powder based beverage (coffee, energy drinks etc.) and needed accessories such as gum, disinfectant wipes, and a spoon. Beverage pouches allow soldiers to mix and consume beverages from the pouch.
The REAL Field Ration conforms to the NATO standard for nutrition during cold climate operations (Special Purpose Ration). Each ration averages approximately 1300 calories, composed of 192 g of carbohydrates, 45 g of protein, and 40 g of fat to supply sufficient fuel for soldiers in the field.
