The explosive is used to carry out blasting operations, of both above and underground character. Its use in coal mines is restricted regarding safety reasons to blasting stone materials, provided methane concentration in working environment is not exceeding the limit specified by safety regulations, in compliance with directives of Czech Mining Board (CMB).The minimum hole diameter, in which the explosive PERMONEX® V19 is permitted to be used, is 28 mm.
The explosive can be used for demolition and ameliorative stints, eventually for priming charges. Heavy calibre blasting charges are used for bench blasting, while small diameter blasting cartridges are utilised for secondary shooting and blasting of blast disjuncted material. Charged into blast holes is the explosive in a standard way; permitted are also methods based on charging by free fall sinking of explosive or its filling. Pneumatic method of charging is not permitted. Blasting cartridges are allowed to be subdivided if supported by a wooden board, while non-sparking tools are to be utilised. Temperature operating range of PERMONEX® V19 explosive is -20 to +30 °C. Fuse primers used to ignite the explosive charge should feature initiatory capacity equal or exceeding that of a standard detonation fuse No. 8.
