Longthorne Gunmakers Ltd is an innovative English gun making company formed in 2010 as a sister company to the Directors precision engineering and tool making company.
Our MD James Longthorne Stewart started development of our guns in 2006 and then we launched them 2010.
Every part of our guns is manufactured in -house at our factory in England. Chloe, the daughter of James , draws the engraving designs.
One of the most special features of our guns is the fact that our barrels are manufactured from a single solid piece of high specification steel (Patented), this not only makes them very strong and light but also significantly reduces the horizontal and vertical movement of the gun (known as ‘felt-recoil’ and ‘muzzle flip’) when being shot.
For example a 12 bore gun with 30” barrels weighs approximately 7lb but is still stable (it is possible to make them heavier if required).
Our barrels are also parallel instead of converging. This means that the shot remains on a constant path to point of aim and point of impact. They therefore shoot where the user is aiming, unlike converging barrels which have to be regulated to cross at a given point in front of the gun and creates a tight pattern.
We fully machine all parts of our guns to exacting tolerances from single pieces of high specification steel, we do not solder or weld any part of our guns.
Our current range are all true sidelock guns, proofed for steel and chambered as follows:
Chambered 3" 2.3/4" 3" 2.34" 3"
Bore 12 16 20 28 410
Our standard range includes:
Rose & Scroll
Side x Side(new)
Clients are able to specify certain features such as stock dimensions, barrel length, fore-end and stock shape and we also have some chargeable options as detailed on our price list.
