TASMANIAN TIGER is a brand of TATONKA GmbH. In the development, the brand had the benefit of Tatonka's decades of experience in backpack construction and the development of ergonomically sophisticated carrying systems.

All our products, from prototypes to series-ready items, are manufactured on our own SA8000-certified production site. The work processes – from material procurement to manufacture to the final inspection - are precisely defined, and are regularly checked by independent test centres to international standards. Every product is checked before it leaves production and is given a serial number that is then stored in the company’s own database. This ensures that a consistently high level of quality is maintained.

TASMANIAN TIGER – the story of a brand

The TASMANIAN TIGER brand was founded in 1999.

The Tasmanian tiger was the largest carnivorous marsupial on the Australian continent. The nocturnal hunter was said to possess characteristics such as endurance, strength, an infallible hunting instinct, excellent camouflage, and an irrepressible will to survive. Although the Tasmanian tiger is now officially extinct, not a few people believe that, thanks to its exceptional characteristics, it has managed to survive and remains, undiscovered, in the wilderness of Tasmania.

This myth was why we chose to name our products TASMANIAN TIGER.
