The Walther LG 400 Target Sprint gives competitors a crucial advantage
Target sprint is a new discipline that combines running and shooting. Athletes have to run three laps of 400 meters, and after the first and second laps they shoot with their air rifles at five targets with a diameter of 35 millimeters. Walther has modified its LG400 to meet the special requirements of this sport. The rifle was developed taking users’ wishes into account, and it has cut a good figure in recent competitions.
Practical features and sophisticated details confer a decisive advantage on the shooting range. For example, the receiver has been shortened, putting the loading tray closer than normal to the shooter. The rifle is also convertible for left-handers and right-handers. Other special features include a modified loading lever (also convertible), a special adjustable fore-end and a holding plate for 20 pellets. There are also special features for summer biathlon: The trigger pull weight can be changed to 500 grams by replacing a spring. Special butt plate wings permit both standing and prone shooting.
