Ballistol disinfectant is a ready-to-use, highly effective alcoholic antiseptic for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection (according to VAH methods, EN 1500 and EN 12791). Applicable in all areas of human hygiene. Very good skin tolerance, even with frequent use.

The long tradition and history of BALLISTOL is unique. For more than 115 years, the manufacturer of Ballistol Universalöl has been known as an expert on all types of special oils. Today, BALLISTOL produces not only the well-known Ballistol Universalöl but also numerous care products for humans and animals as well as many special technical oils.

The invention of the universal oil

In 1874, Friedrich Wilhelm Klever, a lawyer with commercial interests, founded the chemical factory F.W. KLEVER. He began producing coal-based oils and fats and bought a mine to be independent of natural resource supplies. At the turn of the century, the imperial army was looking for an all-round oil that would care for and preserve not only the metal parts of the weapons, but also the wooden shafts and the leather goods. At the same time, it had to serve the soldier as a wound oil for minor injuries, tears and abrasions. The son of the company founder, dr. Helmut Klever, then lecturer in chemistry at the Technical University in Karlsruhe, succeeded in 1904 in the formulation of a special oil, which he named after the words ballistics and the Latin oleum for oil "BALLISTOL". Soon it was known as "miracle oil" with surprising properties and was also used in the German army from 1905 to 1945 use. The name BALLISTOL survived all the turmoil of the history of the last century and became a fixed term for hunters, shooters, fishermen and many others, a synonym for quality and versatility.

1,000 and more fields of application

The outstanding feature of Ballistol Universal Oil is its versatility. There are many other protective and lubricating oils on the market, but none of them achieve the almost unbelievable scope and compatibility of Ballistol Universal Oil.

With Ballistol Universal Oil you can clean, preserve, protect, care for, impregnate, lubricate and disinfect. It is not only suitable for machines and equipment made of steel and iron, but also for natural wood and leather (with the exception of suede) as well as for oil-resistant rubbers and plastics.

In addition to the classic universal oil BALLISTOL offers many other special products of different product groups. First and foremost one of the most comprehensive assortments of gun care. This range from weapons cleaning oils and gun oils, barrel cleaners and cold degreasers to trophy bleaches, felt cleaners, silencer cleaner and plastic cleaner. Furthermore BALLISTOL offers its own series of engineering oils and sprays as well as bicycle care products. Defense sprays and care products for humans and animals complete the portfolio. In particular, the mosquito repellent and tick repellent Stichfrei® must be emphasized here, as it provides reliable protection, is easy to apply and also has a pleasant smell compared to other agents.
