Round barrels with stepped centre rails, smooth bores in 15 mm calibre. On barrel tops engraved and cut decor with signature "Paul Poser in Prag". On barrel roots two gold-inlaid "Poser" marks each below crown and depicted horse. Engraved tangs, gold-lined touch holes. Locks with extremely fine cut battle scenes, hammers with vine decor. Beautiful full stocks made of grained walnut root wood with silver relief noses. Stocks with finely cut vine decor and monster heads, in between rich silver wire inlays. Rich silver relief furniture, on lock side plates battle scene with Turks. On trigger guards and butt caps antique mythological figures. Silver escutcheons with finely engraved arms of the Princes von Lobkowitz. Wooden ramrods with horn tips. Length 52 cm each.

An extremely high-grade pair of pistols in princely quality, which combines the late work of one of the best gunsmiths of his era with the talent of the young steel chiseller Franz Matzenkopf. The chiselling work on the locks can in all probability be attributed to Matzenkopf who was a resident of Prague around 1730 where he mainly worked for Paul Poser and other gunsmiths before he applied himself to his later career as a medallion maker at the court of the Archbishop of Salzburg.
