After the huge success of the puristic single shot rifle K3 Extreme, Merkel will catch up in the B-class with new models. The Suhler classics will be offered in a “Black” edition without any engraving but with a black, anodised bascule, a high-grade wood stock and titanium nitrated functional elements (tilted block and trigger).
Both models, B3 and B4, are available as Over-and-Under combination guns. Both of these hunting rifles own a high-tensile aluminium bascule and carry the Suhler genes in the form of the hunting titled block. For the model range “Black” the lock is titanium nitrated and can be removed without using any tools. The working principle of the titled block: It locks in the barrel steel-on-steel, works without torque and is extremely durable. The rifles are manufactured remarkably short (approx. 102cm), light (approx. 3.1 kg) and are, in accordance, very handy. The lower barrels can be adjusted horizontally and vertically and are swinging freely. This ensures a excellent conduct when the barrel heats up.
The difference between the models B3 and B4 are the lock systems. The B3 has a two lock hand cocking system. The B4 comes with a single lock, hand cocking system which allows precision shots with the finely tuned trigger. The B-class uses a repeatable Suhl tilt up mount. New is the stock shape, which has been adapted to the previous line of B-Class rifles. Every rifle is manufactured with a Bavarian cheek piece from wood class 4 upwards.
