Mr. Katzenmeier at the sawmill cutting 400 year old walnut roots.
For four generations Katzenmeier has been producing high quality walnut gun stocks. This wood, which is known for its excellent color and structure, was once plentiful in the Odenwald forest.
Increasing demand for this wood has prompted us to switch over to using French and Caucasian walnut which have many of the same beautiful characteristics of the wood from the Odenwald. The 200 to 300 year old Caucasian walnut is particularly noted for its striking color and structure.
Katzenmeier always has a large selection of stocks in several air-dried types and qualities. Special designs in sizes 70, 80 or 100 mm can be made at any time.
