TIMNEY Trigger announces two stage triggers
TIMNEY Trigger announces its series of two-stage triggers for AR15 /Rem 700
Established in 1946 by Allen Timney, Timney Triggers was founded on the need for easy-to-install, single-stage triggers for shooting enthusiasts sporterizing military rifles in the post-WWII era. Allen built triggers for bolt-action rifles such as Mausers, Springfields and Enfields and Timney quickly became known as the aftermarket trigger company for bolt-action rifles.
Pigs may not be growing wings but after nearly 70 years of making best-in-class single stage triggers, Timney announces today its series of two-stage triggers. The new series will initially include the AR Targa 2-Stage and the 2-Stage Straight trigger engineered for Remington Model 700 rifles.
The new Timney AR Targa 2-Stage Trigger is a self-contained, 100% drop-in unit that is ready to install in your AR-15 for an exceptionally smooth, crisp, two-stage trigger pull. No gunsmithing, fitting, or adjusting required.
The pull weight is factory calibrated for a three-pound first stage and a two-pound second stage. The trigger housing is constructed of military grade, 6061 T6 alloy that is CNC machined using state-of-the-art robotics and is anodized for superior durability. The hammer is wire EDM cut from S7 tool steel, combining hardness to resist wear with superior impact resistance to withstand heavy use without chipping or breaking and is Teflon-nickel coated for lubricity. Other components are wire EDM cut from A2 tool steel, then heat treated to Rockwell 58 for long lasting, dependable service life. The Timney AR Targa 2 Stage Trigger installs using your rifle’s original hammer/trigger pins – our proprietary design eliminates pin rotation and walkout.
Timney Triggers has been making replacement triggers for Remington Model 700 rifles for over fifty years. The new Timney 2-Stage Straight trigger is the latest model in that series. The pull weight is factory calibrated for a eight-ounce first stage and one -pound second stage (the second stage is adjustable from 8-ounces to 2.5-pounds of pull weight).
The 2-Stage Straight trigger features machined and hardened steel work surfaces milled from A2 tool steel and all three sears are Teflon-nickel coated for added lubricity. The trigger housing and shoe are CNC machined using state-of-the-art robotics and the sears are EDM cut from high-grade solid steel. The trigger housing utilizes an anodized aluminum body and the trigger shoe and safety are carbonitrided which dramatically increases the surface hardness and wear-resistance properties of the metal.
The Timney 2 Stage Straight Trigger is easily installed with no screws, drilling, or tapping required. By simply removing existing pins, replacing trigger, and inserting existing pins anyone can replace a trigger on their Remington 700
