Magnum Research: the new Desert Eagle lightweight models
For some shooters handling has always been an issue with the big Desert Eagles. The new Desert Eagle L models are about 350 grams lighter than their standard counterpart. That's a big improvement for the handling of the pistol.
The L5 being chambered in .357 Magnum and feeding through 9-rounds magazines, while the L6 model fires the .50 Action Express round and uses a 7-shots magazine – are slightly lightened and shortened variants of the design, featuring an integrated compensator to reduce recoil and muzzle climb due to the heavy caliber: the Desert Eagle L5 is just over 25 centimeters long, while the L6 is around 27 centimeters long.
Magnum Research® Desert Eagles® in All Stainless Steel
A year has passed since Magnum Research first introduced the .50 AE Mark XIX pistol in stainless steel. Now, the company is proud to announce the much anticipated introduction of the stainless steel Desert Eagle in .357 and .44 Magnum.
Both the Mark XIX Desert Eagle .357 and .44 Magnum are offered in an all stainless steel construction of the frame, slide, barrel and rail, and is accented with attractive black appointments. Both models have a 6” barrel and have an integral muzzle brake which will replace the add-on brake which Magnum Research offered for a number of years. With the new integral muzzle brake, it offers significant recoil reduction, less muzzle flip and an attractive streamlined appearance. In addition, because the overall length remains the same as the standard 6” barrel model, the same holsters will fit these models. The .357 and .44 Magnum also features a new picatinny bottom rail for accessories.
“When we introduced the first stainless steel Desert Eagle Mark XIX in .50 AE last year, the demand was overwhelming and it was difficult to keep up with that demand” says Frank Harris, VP of Sales and Marketing. “Unquestionably, the Desert Eagle Mark XIX series is the most popular handgun that Magnum Research manufacturers, and now, in stainless steel, the .357 and .44 Magnum, as well as the .50 AE, look more commanding than ever before.
Magnum Research® Cerakote™ Tungsten Desert Eagle®
Once again, USA based Magnum Research is introducing another new version of the iconic Desert Eagle with the addition of their new Cerakote Tungsten to the .44 Magnum and .50AE Desert Eagle products.
“Over the past couple of years, we have added Stainless Steel, Burnt Bronze, even animal prints to our Desert Eagle line, but now we have upped the image with this very commanding dark gray graphite color called Tungsten. The new color really puts the “muscle” into the look of this powerful handgun.” says Frank Harris, VP of Sales and Marketing. “The overall look has a military feel about it which really appeals to many gun owners.”
The Cerakote coating is a multi-step process which results in a high temperature ceramic coating that holds up well under normal use. The Tungsten model is complemented with attractive black appointments which gives the pistol even more appeal.
New Walnut Stock for Magnum Research® .22 Semi-Auto Rifles Magnum Research, Inc. (MRI) has upgraded their Magnum Lite® .22LR and .22WMR semi-auto rifles with a new Barracuda American Black Walnut gun stock. The new stock replaces the heavier laminate stocks which included: Barracuda Pepper, Nutmeg and Forest Camo.
The Magnum Lite MLR22BW and MLR22WMBW with the black walnut stock includes: a lightweight thumbhole design, a comb height designed for comfort and a height that easily accommodates optics. It also features a semi-palm swell of both sides of the pistol grip and a molded-to-fit rubber butt plate. The polished walnut stock gives the .22 rifle a sleek, impressive new look. Both rifles are 100% made in the USA.
The new rifles will be equipped with the Magnum Lite® revolutionary patented graphite bull barrel, exclusive to Magnum Research. The patented uni-directional graphite fibers, parallel to the bore axis, result in a barrel with 6x the stiffness of the equivalent weight of steel. The lighter barrel weight (from 13-16 oz. depending on barrel length) is easier to handle and will dissipate heat up to 43% faster than steel. The result is extremely accurate rimfire performance in both .22LR and .22WMR.
Additional features of the MLR22 include: .22LR and .22WMR Bentz target chamber designed specifically for semi-automatics, full floating barrel for maximum accuracy, CNCmachined receiver from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum forging with an integral Weaver-type rail for optics, and a black anodized finish.
