A new class of daily duty footwear for the police– comfortable and lightweight
Apart from handling the huge variety of tasks that a police officer has to perform, functional daily duty footwear for the police also has to cope with elevated temperatures and high levels of activity. At the same time it has to promote agility and offer effective thermal management, without sacrificing durable waterproofness. Tactical GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort daily duty footwear successfully fulfils these multiple requirements.
At the core of this daily duty footwear is the 3-layer GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort laminate that comes without insulation. The construction consists of a highly abrasion resistant textile lining material, the microporous GORE-TEX® membrane and a protective knit. This laminate is exceptionally thin and effectively transports any sweat produced by the foot in the form of water vapour to the outside. At the same time the laminate creates a reliable and durable barrier against water penetrating from the outside.
The 3-layer GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort laminate used in Tactical GORE-TEX® footwear is combined with carefully selected upper materials, special sole structures and a minimalist construction inspired by multifunctional sports shoes. This technology enables Gore’s footwear partners to manufacture daily duty footwear that is tailored to the needs of the modern police officer, delivering a particularly impressive performance in urban settings. These shoes and boots are exceptionally lightweight, athletic, durably waterproof and extremely rugged. Through effective climate management they make sure there is a pleasant climate inside the shoe even at elevated temperatures or high levels of activity. Tactical GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort footwear is certified in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012 for occupational shoes. In Europe they feature in the collections of Gore footwear partners Crispi, Fal, Haix, Lowa and Meindl.
