Inspired by last year’s headlining Vapor™ and Stealth SS™ models, the Venom’s stock assembly features TenPoint’s popular FSB™ (Functionally Superior Bullpup) stock and a new, shorter 19.9-inch version of its super-light, patented, woven carbon fiber barrel. The new barrel is fitted with a 4-inch bullpup version of TenPoint’s patented 3.5-pound PowerTouch™ trigger.
Configured with optimal comb-height and length-of-pull, the FSB butt stock uses strategically placed cutouts or ports to reduce weight and improve balance. Its embedded carbon fiber barrel rests on rubber inserts and dual-purpose rubber safety wings to reduce noise and vibration and to help keep the shooter’s fore-grip hand safely below the flight deck. This new stock and shortened barrel configuration is a compact 34.7-inches long.
The bow assembly features TenPoint’s popular XLT™ riser equipped with 11-inch IsoTaper Limbs™ powered by the company’s new HE2™ (Hybrid Eccentric 2) cams, optimized for this design, and new DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cables with a hard yoke system. The result is an XLT bow assembly that is narrower-than-standard, at 13.25-inches, with a longer-than-standard power stroke, at 13.5-inches.
The 185-pound Venom weighs a mere 6.5 pounds, without accessories, and unleashes its fury at a lightning-quick 372 fps with TenPoint’s Pro Lite™ arrow.
“When we launched our carbon fiber barrel technology in 2011, we knew it would change the landscape of our lineup for years to come,” said Rick Bednar, TenPoint CEO. “The Venom pairs that technology with a supercharged XLT bow assembly to deliver a compact, ultra-light, and fast crossbow that will be attractive to the most demanding of our customers.”
