The Slim 79 matches a bespoke SDIS (departmental fire service) requirement seeking a lightweight, safe, karabiner-adaptable and economic knife. It is the carbon copy of the Wild 79.
The Wildsteer Company was founded in December 2004 in order to develop, manufacture and sell its own knives. The first model introduced was the “Wildsteer”, the now popular knife for Archers, designed by Edouard de Buyer, an active practitioner of outdoor Archery and Forging.
But the Wildsteer users saw very soon that it was much more than a knife for archers. The unique forging design made the Wildsteer unique when used as a survival knife, camp knife, and tactical knife. The very efficient wire-cutters developed some years after offered many other new possibilities.
These developments and these results coming from extreme field tests, made wildsteer quickly known for its innovation abilities and its quality products 100% made in France. Many of new ideas came after discussions with users and from feedback with customers and year after year the range developed with at least two new products a year.
The Baby Wild, with its leather handle and sheath, the Wild Tech2 with the paracord handle and very versatile sheath, the Tech-Neck with its survival sheath. The X Wild a strong knife designed for hunters, with its leather handle and sheath, The TX WILD will be new version derived from the same blade with a paracord mostly used as a camp knife. Two folding knife will join the range, the Wild 79, with a wooden handle designed for day to day use, and the WX folding knife, very powerful multifunction knife, designed to be used with all the Wildsteer accessories.
