The Spyderco Stok Bowie is a uniquely different approach to everyday-carry cutting tools. It was designed by Sjoerd Stok, a Dutch marketing specialist and classically trained artist with a deep passion for knives. While attending art school, he learned the value of an everyday carry utility knife, but preferred the simplicity of a small fixed blade. Putting his talents to work, he designed two compact, legally friendly “urban fixed blades” that bear his name. Both share a common handle design but are differentiated by their distinctive utilitarian blade shapes. The Stok Bowie showcases a saber-ground Bowie-style blade crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. Its full-tang handle features a refined ergonomic profile that ensures a comfortable, positive grip and superior control during detailed cutting chores. The handle’s shape is complemented by olive drab peel-ply-textured G-10 handle scales and a generous lanyard hole that allows the easy attachment of lanyards and fobs. To balance discreet carry and ready access, the Stok Bowie comes complete with a custom-molded, snap-fit Boltaron® sheath with a G-Clip™ attachment. The G-Clip can be attached to either side of the symmetrical sheath to provide vertical, horizontal, or canted belt carry with the knife in either an edge-forward or edge back orientation. It also works as a spring clip to carry the knife inside the waistband. A remarkable alternative to the traditional pocketknife, the Stok Bowie will have you rethinking your everyday carry choices.

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. In 1978, they settled in Golden, Colorado, and initially, the company focused on selling our first product: the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™ which was primarily sold at fairs and trade shows around the country.
In 1981, Spyderco introduced their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. That knife pioneered the concept of a round hole in the blade for one-handed opening, a clip on the handle for carry at the top of the pocket, and the option of a serrated edge for aggressive cutting performance. Those features revolutionized the knife industry and literally defined the form of the modern folding knife.
Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, our innovation has also earned us an impressive portfolio of patents, trademarks, and industry awards. More importantly, it has allowed us to earn the trust and loyalty of countless thousands of dedicated knife users around the world—an audience to whom we are extremely grateful.
