SEKO started out in business in 1976, operating out of a single Chicago office. Since then, we have built a solid reputation throughout the world as an innovative and flexible provider of first-class logistics services operating 200 offices around the globe providing international reach and local know how. After providing logistics services to the government and defence industry for more than eight years the specialist branch of SEKO Government & Defence, also known as SEKO GSD was founded. With this branch we provide the industry with complete Supply Chain Solutions, specializing in transportation, logistics, forwarding and warehousing including pick & pack and relabelling for products such as arms, ammunition, explosives, drones, vehicles, aircraft and spare parts.
What were the first logistical issues the company dealt with?
Our first defence logistics contract was signed with the Dutch military in 2012, since then the number of government and defence contracts has increased rapidly and evolved into a worldwide operation shipping military hardware. We established a worldwide network of specialized and trusted local agents along the way enabling us to ship various kinds of weaponry by land, sea and air. Five years ago we decided to open up this network to the civil market. From that moment we have shipped small arms, ammunition, optics and other weapon related articles globally for various SME’s for the tactical, sport shooting and hunting industry.
What are your biggest logistic markets?
Our biggest logistical market is between the North American continent and Europe but we perform regular arms and ammunitions shipments around the globe such as Australia and New Zealand, Asia, Central and South America. The vast majority of arms and ammunitions however are shipped transatlantic. For those customers we facilitate specialized storage in our own secure explosives storage bunkers centrally located in Germany from where we can distribute in a secure and compliant manner to the rest of Europe or vice versa.
What makes your business stand out from your competitors?

We arrange the necessary licenses needed for each country which opens potential new markets not open to others.
