The Mectron Qualifier "Q-5000-8" System is composed of two distinct sections: Laser Gauging with an eight laser 30mm capability for initial inspection of dimensions and Magnetic Imagery for both defects and metallurgical properties.
Laser Gauging involves measuring in three axes. Dimensions that may be accurately measured are diameters down the length of the part and lengths such as head thickness etc. Depending on the part configuration, the accuracy and repeatability on diameters is plus or minus (+.005mm). Laser Length Analyzer provides measurement of feature lengths, stack-up, head height and overall lengths with repeatability of ±.05mm.
